AdBirds – Are they Angry Birds?

I’m glad to see someone over at Google has a sense of humor.  This April Fool’s day there was a little surprise in the notification section of our AdWords account:

The little icon immediately caught our attention.  AdBirds?  So we decided to click, and here’s what we saw:

AdBirds

Talk about creativity!  Love it!

We did a double take.  Is this for real?  Looks like someone spent a lot of time on this, but no way.

Text locations: Beak?  Wings?  Tail?  This is too much.  The button: ‘Let it fly! ‘ tops it off.  Great April Fool’s prank.

That being said, we thought we would honor the effort and explore the different birds:

Sparrow:

Small quick and efficient.  For the short and sweet messages?  😉

Owl

A great option for those with nocturnal business hours?  Just playing along, it’s a good thing they have florescent ink options… 😉

Duck

Available at most parks and community areas.  Perhaps you get better ad exposure if you upgrade to Mallard?

Eagle

Broad audience reach – may require a higher bid?  Could be ideal for those binocular holding nosy neighbors.

Pigeon

Best for large cities with crowds of people.  I’m sure there’s a remarketing angle if you go for the ‘seeds’ option.

And last but our favorite:

Penguin

Limited to location, as they can’t fly.  Just too much.  😉

Thank you Google, this gives us a great way to connect with customers, and we’ll be sure to add it into our next briefing meetings with clients about new and unique ways to reach their target market.  😉

Hope you have a great April Fools Day!
