It’s amazing how much information there is out there about online marketing. As someone new to the online marketing world, where do you even begin?

Well this category of our site – Online Marketing – Starting from Scratch is designed with just that thought in mind.  Helping you get started.

So where to start.  I’m sure you’ve heard of all the big sites.  Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, Etc…  But what to do about them?

Step 1 – Claim your name.

Go to every single large social media site and claim your brand name / company name / personal name / product name.  But there I go, getting ahead of myself.  Even before you do that, as a pre-step:

Pre-Step – Register your Domain.

There are plenty of good registrars out there.  The pricing can’t be beat at Godaddy.com, so that’s my favorite one at the moment.  Their site changes regularly, but it’s pretty user friendly to be able to purchase a domain name.  Just go to the homepage, search for your name, then click register.  The site will walk you through the rest, and if you want to talk to a real human being, give them a call.  My experiences with the customer service department over there have been decent.  Have a credit card ready and you’re good to go!
